The world can be completely deconstructed without any restrictions. Everything you see can be changed.
The world is generated completely randomly based on the seed. It contains various types of landscape, ranging from plains to mountains. Under the earth is a complex and deep network of caves.
Rising World can be played in both single and multi-player mode. Play via the internet or LAN. All files required for a dedicated server are also available.
Many objects within the world are subject to the laws of physics. This currently applies to items that you throw away as well as trees, and will soon apply to water and vehicles (see below). Basically this means that if, for example, a tree is felled, it immediately topples over as the laws of physics would dictate, and is influenced by the immediate environment, i.e. if it was on a hillside, for example, it would roll down the hill.
We have ensured that all important decisions are made via the server, so that life is made as difficult as possible for cheaters. One example of this is the inventory, which is saved on the server side and therefore cannot be tampered with.
It is possible to freely place objects within the world. These include furnishings such as tables, chairs, or even musical instruments, as well as work tools such as work benches and furnaces. Further objects will be added on a regular basis. Players can also interact with the majority of objects.
There are almost 200 materials available for placing in the world in different forms, including as blocks, cylinders, stairs or ramps.
We opted for the scripting language LUA. This makes it possible to write comprehensive server-side 'game modes' to influence and control what happens in the game.
The extended constructon system makes it possible to freely place even precise construction elements in the world. These range from panes of glass to wooden planks to metal plates.
A server list is available in the multi-player menu. It's possible to look directly and conveniently for a suitable server. The search can be narrowed down even more using various search criteria.
The currently empty and uninhabited world is like a thorn in our side. For this reason, we will be integrating various animals and monsters into the game. All preparations have been made – it won’t be long now.
It will soon be possible to provide each player on a server with extensive rights. This essentially means that it will be possible to specifically determine which items a player can have, which blocks they can deconstruct or which objects they can use. In addition, groups of users can also be created and given rights, which will then apply to all members.
There are several different biomes planned, including forests, deserts, rainforests and snowy landscapes. In addition, there will be several transition biomes, such as steppes, tundras and savannahs, which form the links between the individual biomes.
The world is already big, but we are working on making it "endless" in size.
It sounds strange, but there will be an opportunity to bake and cook to your heart’s content. Various kitchen utensils will be available for preparing different meals.
We are planning extensive dungeons. These will not just be made up of one room but will form a complex network of vaults. There will be both small and larger, more expansive dungeons. There will also be temples and ruins to explore above ground. One thing’s for sure: the more valuable the treasure the dungeons hold, the more dangerous they will be.
Wouldn’t it be great if you good speed over the hills in an off-road vehicle or fly down into the valley from the highest mountain on a glider? We are working on implementing these options as quickly as possible.
At present, every player looks the same. But that is going to change. Players will soon have the opportunity to both change their appearance and put on different pieces of clothing.
We are working on water that complies with the laws of physics, i.e. water that adapts to the terrain. This means that a lake will, in theory, be able to empty as soon as the banks are dug up. At the same time, we will also be integrating vast oceans and flooded underground passages into the game.
In future, everything that you build will be able to be saved in the form of a construction plan. This means that you can rebuild exactly the same building at any time (all you need is the raw materials). As construction plans are valid across the whole game, you can use them for other worlds at any time.
Coming soon: a system where you can create real roads with bends and everything else that comes with them. You will be able to lay footpaths and cobbled streets as well as asphalt roads, among others.
Alongside the road construction system, there will be a rail system that works in a similar way. On the one hand, this will allow you to operate wagons in your own mines; on the other hand, it will allow you to lay over-ground tracks for trains.
Electricity will soon play a big role. The system will not only provide a simple and easy way of laying cables, but will also provide the opportunity to create complex circuits in a compact design. All of this is rounded off with a large range of available sensors and controllers.
